It gives me the feeling of coming home.&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Denise Seyhan&#8217;s well-managed dramatic voice captivates with its richness of colour and unmistakable timbre. Thanks to her great openness and enormous enthusiasm, she can also empathise well with unusual directorial concepts.<em>. \u2018She is an outstanding singer and a wonderful stage actress\u2019<\/em> (Elias Grandy).<\/p>\n<p>The German-Ottoman mezzo-soprano completed her training after studying singing at the Karlsruhe University of Music, initially with Gabriele Kniesel. After two changes of fach, her voice quickly developed into the dramatic fach thanks to her many years of collaboration with Walter Donati and Anna Rita Esposito, through whom she learnt the Italian singing technique (&#8220;Alte Schule&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>After her first engagements as <strong>Dorabella<\/strong> and H\u00e4nsel, she soon sang her first dramatic role under the musical direction of Johannes Witt: the <strong>Knusperhexe<\/strong> in \u2018H\u00e4nsel und Gretel\u2019. The <strong>MiR Gelsenkirchen<\/strong> engaged her for the leading female role in the world premiere of \u2018Konrad oder Das Kind aus der Konservenb\u00fcchse\u2019 by Gisbert N\u00e4ther. This was followed by further important engagements as <strong>Ulrica <\/strong>(\u2018Un ballo in Maschera\u2019), <strong>Amneris<\/strong> (Aida), <strong>Fricka<\/strong> (\u2018Walk\u00fcre\u2019 and \u201cRheingold\u201d), <strong>Maddalena<\/strong> (\u2018Rigoletto\u2019), <strong>3rd Lady<\/strong> (Magic Flute).<\/p>\n<p>From autumn 2022 to March 2023, she performed <strong>Mrs Peachum<\/strong> (\u2018Dreigroschenoper\u2019), <strong>Old Lady<\/strong> and Paquette in \u2018Candide\u2019 by L. Bernstein, <strong>Erda<\/strong>, <strong>Fricka<\/strong> (\u201cRheingold\u201d) and <strong>Flosshilde<\/strong> in \u2018Ring an einem Abend\u2019 at the Megalomania Theatre in Frankfurt am Main.<br \/>\nShe has made guest appearances at <strong>Theater Pforzheim<\/strong> (3rd Elf, \u2018Rusalka\u2019), <strong>Theater Giessen <\/strong>(Birsen G\u00fcner, \u2018Gegen die Wand\u2019), <strong>Theater Heidelberg<\/strong> (Dora K., \u2018Benjamin\u2019) and <strong>Theater Brandenburg<\/strong>, where she played the <strong>1st Magd<\/strong> in the highly acclaimed Elektra production in 2024. Together with song pianist Philip Dahlem and actress Michelle Brubach, she founded the ensemble &#8220;Die Mimusen&#8221; in summer 2021. Together they filmed the song cycle \u2018Sieben fr\u00fche Lieder\u2019 by Alban Berg and produced the musical theatre evening \u2018Die rosa Gefahr\u2019 about the lives of six female composers, with which they have since performed throughout Germany.
